Medicaid Food Security Network National Summit

Inaugural MFSN Summit

The Medicaid Food Security Network (MFSN) team is excited to release the full National Summit report, which compiles key insights gained from the Summit.

The Medicaid Food Security Network (MFSN) successfully convened 170 stakeholders at its first in-person event in Washington, DC, on May 7 and 8. At this inaugural MFSN Summit, we explored Medicaid’s crucial role in linking eligible families to federal nutrition programs.

Participants from key cross-sector organizations were engaged from the opening plenary – the live-streamed “Conversations on Food Justice” – through a day and a half of panels and workshops, culminating in the closing plenary – “Medicaid Food Security Strategies as a Pathway to Catalyze Transformative Change.”

Two of Share Our Strength’s SNAP Parent and Caregiver Advisory Council members, Anthony Bonner and Ashleigh Ligon, shared personal experiences about SNAP and WIC’s vital role in bolstering food security for their families at the Summit. Their deeply personal stories were the highlights of an event filled with amazing accounts of commitment and collaboration. Check out Ashleigh’s story here.
