Quarterly Network Meetings

We hold quarterly virtual convenings, bringing together food advocates and health stakeholders to discuss current policy challenges and solutions for improving food security through Medicaid. All are welcome.

Register here for the next quarterly meeting showcasing the importance of Food is Medicine (FIM) in Medicaid.

Thursday, September 4 at 1:00 pm ET (10:00 am PT)

We’ll hear from:

  • Elaine Borawski, Case Western Reserve Univ. School of Medicine, will discuss the perinatal FIM program “Nourishing Tomorrow,” and her team’s research on medically tailored groceries to reduce food insecurity and improve maternal and infant health outcomes.

  • Cathryn Couch, Ceres Community Project, will share findings from a pilot to improve nutrition and health outcomes for low-income pregnant women in Sonoma County, California.

  • Colby Schaffer, Incline Actuarial Group, will share about cost effectiveness analysis for Food is Medicine programs, including his team’s work with FreshRX OK to build the case that led Oklahoma’s legislature to pass SB806, which directs the state to invest in FIM.
